When it was announced that Cristophe Decarnin was leaving the french fashion house Balmain, everyone’s question was who would be the label’s new creative director, and would they be able to maintain the amazing rocker-chic vibe that Decarnin passed on for the last five years?
Olivier Rousteing, 25, showed us a lot of gold, a lot of baby blue and a lot of black & white. He did an amazing job in his first runway show. He kept the label’s signature look with the short, form fitting dresses. Impeccable two piece’s and beautiful prints. Rousteing decided to say goodbye to the brand’s more ”trashy” side, giving his own spin off to it. My favourite thing about Balmain was exactly its punk-rockish factor, but for Olivier’s first runway collection, he did a pretty good job.
